Overview
Softcon develops and manufactures its controllers in-house. In touch with local and international market requirements and trends, Softcon aims to be at the cutting edge in the development of Access Control technology.
Hardware products are all primarily micro-processor based, ranging from single and multi-door access controllers, vending controllers and cash loading units to a variety of communication drivers and converters. These include fiber optic, RS232/RS422, Wiegand/RS422 and serial/ Wiegand/ data clock/ touch. Multiple Communication methods such as TCP/IP (CAT5e, wireless, fiber, GSM modem), RS485, RS232, and 56K Modem is available depending on the hardware model. Softcon is continually developing on its hardware products.
1. CR391M Controller
The CR391 Controller functions as an Access, Vending, I/O, Cash loader and LAN (communications) controller, positioning it Softcon's flagship hardware product. It is fully backwards compatible with legacy controllers.
The CR391M is essentially a protocol converter. Available communication interfaces includes 5 RS232 / RS485 ports, 2 Wiegand Reader ports, 100 Mbps TCP/IP, TTL, SPI and USB 2.
The CR391M is 10 times faster processing speed, 16 times more memory capacity and 10 faster TCP/IP communication speed than the CR390. All the standard CR390 Access Control features is incorporated into the CR391M leveraging off the latest Microchip technology for superior performance and functionality.
2. CR390 Controller
The CR390 is an intelligent multi-function 2 reader controller, capable of communicating with the Server Software via TCP/IP(CAT5e, wireless, fiber, GSM modem), RS485, RS232, and Modem. As well as having all the features of the existing CR355, it is capable of running as a communication interface, allowing controllers to run off RS485 underneath it, as well as various additional features such as locally managed lift control using output groups. The CR390 controller is capable of interfacing to biometric, proximity, magnetic stripe, infra-red, bar code and many other access control and time and attendance readers.
3. CR355 Controller
The CR355 is an intelligent multi-function, 2-reader controller, complete with backup battery housing and power supply, capable of storing up to 65,000 sequential card numbers and from 1,000 to 2,900 transactions buffer off-line. Being a multi-function controller, the CR355 controller is capable of interfacing to biometric, proximity, magnetic stripe, infra-red, bar code and other readers.
4. Vending Controller
The Vending Controller is an intelligent multi-function1 reader controller, capable of communicating with the Server Software via TCP/IP(CAT5e, wireless, fiber, GSM modem) or Modem. The controller interfaces with standardized MBD, BDV and Exec Vending protocols commonly used on Vending machines.
5. Universal Interface
The Universal Interface is used in a variety of applications like Point of Sale or Printing solutions, where a user needs to be identified using Biometric or card technology. The Universal interface will collect the information from the reader, convert it to a format that the system it is linked to can understand, and pass it through.
